So as you may or may not heard, as part of this whole statehood bid, Palestine submitted a full membership application to UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (I actually knew what it stood for without looking it up. Nerd alert). This is a symbolic big deal and has had a lot of global policy repercussions, which you can read more about here (and should to give yourself some context, if you don't have it, which will help make watching the video a richer experience).
This video is, as my friend Tanya said, heartening. There's a sense of world-wide intellectual and moral awakening. And some humor, too, in the middle. It's great to see real joy in all this muck of politics. Watch :)
Oh, also, this is a pretty great video too: watch a journalist DESTROY the State Dept rep announcing the US withdrawal of funds from UNESCO with incredibly good questions that she has no answer to. Way to go, guy.
