A brief pause from the psychological meditation this blog seems to have been on lately to indulge in the politics that soak my surroundings here.
In brief, awhile ago Israel attacked a peace flotilla from Turkey heading for Gaza with supplies and such and killed a bunch of civilians. Remember that? Nightmare. Well, Turkey is still pissed about it and is demanding Israel apologize for killing its innocent citizens who were doing nothing wrong. Israel refuses. Turkey consequently is being man enough to stop putting up with Israel's mind-blowing BS and is exerting diplomatic and political pressure. This includes questioning dozens of Israelis who arrived at the airport in Turkey yesterday in small rooms before eventually letting them go.
Oh wait, this is EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS TO MYSELF AND ALMOST EVERYONE I KNOW WHO IS NOT ISRAELI/JEWISH WHO ARRIVES AT BEN GURION. Not to mention the shit the Palestinians go through...Christ. At least Turkey didn't make the Israelis go through the old 'strip down and stand there in your underwear while they make you wait for 20 minutes for someone to rub you down'.
Loving it, loving it, loving it. Go Turkey. You're just European enough for people to not freak out about your Islam, and just emerging market enough for people to not freak out about your politics. I hope this is a victory for justice, I really do.
