Bunch of Bedouins bagpiping: ah, colonial hangovers

Peep these fine pipers! Checks and plaids, oh my!

Sitting in my office. All of a sudden, Braveheart's blaring away outside our window. New Arab world lesson: Bedouins love bagpipes!

I guess during the old colonial days, the Arabs really took to the Scottish flute. Makes sense, a lot of it, when you hear it-- fits right in with the drumming and general tonal nature of Arab music.

Watching a bunch of Palestinian teenagers march around a basketball court, bagpipe-armed? Hilarious.
