Reality: development involves spending your entire Friday (=Thursday here) night huddled in bed because the electricity keeps going out in your UNHEATED apartment, so the one blow-dryer esque space heater you have can't even marginally leak lukewarm air and its so flipping freezing you want to die.
Don't do it folks. You may think it's cool, but it's not. It's eating cold, stale, crap tries at American pizza that you still need to be politely enthusiastic about, and endless flights in coach because Development Workers Don't Take Business Class, and STILL LOST LUGGAGE, and social loneliness, and horrible, endless professional micromanagement.
(It's also, just once in awhile, so incredibly exhilarating you think you might just fall off the edge of the earth)
But I am NOT in that phase right now.
